CHARLES BELLOWS III, M.D.

Dr. Charles Bellows III, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified General Surgeon who brings over 20 years of experience in minimally invasive surgery to the vein care team at United Vein & Vascular Centers.
He has held several leadership roles in surgery departments, including Chief of Division of General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Tulane, Chief of General Surgery at the VA in Southeast Louisiana, and Chief of Surgery at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center. Dr. Bellows is dedicated to the future of medicine. Alongside his leadership roles, Dr. Bellows has taken on several teaching roles. He served as the Program Director for the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship and directed the Division of Surgical Research at Tulane University. He has also held teaching roles at UNM, University of Colorado, Baylor College of Medicine, and University of Florida.
He is also highly published, contributing to nearly 80 research papers and 7 books. Dr. Bellows serves on the editorial board for several medical journals including American Surgeon, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and the Global Journal of Surgery. He has won several awards including America’s Top Doctor and Who’s Who in America.
Dr. Bellows has made countless important contributions to the field of medicine throughout his years of practice through his leadership, mentoring, research, and teaching.
