Burning pain in her legs had become difficult for Kara M. to ignore.
She described the discomfort simply as pain in her legs with a burning sensation. While burning legs can have several possible causes, Kara knew the pain had become noticeable enough that she wanted answers rather than continuing to work around it.
She came to United Vein & Vascular Centers of Boca Raton, where she could have her symptoms evaluated and learn whether a vein condition might be contributing. Her evaluation ultimately led to a treatment plan that included VenaSeal™ and Varithena®.
Burning Pain Was Interfering with How Her Legs Felt
For Kara, the burning sensation was not simply soreness after a busy day. It was part of the leg pain that prompted her to seek care.
Burning legs can be described in different ways. Some people experience warmth, stinging, irritation, or a deeper uncomfortable sensation beneath the skin. The feeling can also come from several different sources, including nerve-related conditions, muscle or joint problems, skin concerns, and circulation issues.
Because of that, a burning sensation alone does not identify what is causing the problem. How often it occurs, when it becomes noticeable, whether activity affects it, and what other symptoms are present can all provide helpful context during an evaluation.
For Kara, the burning had become significant enough that she wanted to understand why her legs were hurting.
Why Circulation May Be Part of the Conversation
Burning is not always the first symptom people associate with vein disease.
Symptoms such as heaviness, aching, swelling, throbbing, or visible varicose veins may be more familiar. But vein-related discomfort can feel different from person to person, and some patients may experience burning sensations as part of their symptoms.
When veins have difficulty moving blood efficiently back toward the heart, pressure can build within the affected veins, leading to aching or discomfort in the legs.
Burning pain can still have many possible causes, which is why evaluation matters. A vein screening can help determine whether signs of vein disease may be present and whether further testing is appropriate.
For Kara, that evaluation helped guide what came next.

Her Care Plan Included Two Vein Treatments
Kara underwent treatment with VenaSeal™ and Varithena® at the United Vein & Vascular Centers Boca Raton vein clinic.
VenaSeal™ is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a medical adhesive to close an affected vein. Once closed, blood can naturally reroute through healthier veins nearby.
Varithena® is an injectable microfoam treatment used to close certain affected veins.
Which treatment or combination of treatments is appropriate depends on factors such as the veins involved, symptoms, imaging findings, medical history, and provider evaluation.
After treatment, Kara’s description of how her legs felt changed dramatically.
The Burning Pain Finally Eased
When Kara was asked what benefits she noticed after receiving treatment, she did not need many words to explain the difference.
“Pain is gone. Much relief.”
That statement gets directly to the symptom that brought her in. Kara had sought care because of pain in her legs and a burning sensation. After treatment, she reported that the pain was gone.
The improvement also extended beyond how her legs felt while she was resting. Kara noticed the difference when she was active, giving her a clear point of comparison between life before and after treatment.
Exercise Felt Different Without the Burning Pain
One of Kara’s most specific improvements involved exercise.
Before seeking care, burning pain had become part of what she was experiencing in her legs. After treatment, she reported that she was not in pain when exercising.
That change mattered because it connected her results to something she was already doing in her everyday life.
Burning leg pain does not have to stop someone from exercising completely to affect the experience. Discomfort can make movement less enjoyable, cause someone to pay more attention to how their legs feel, or make activity something they approach more cautiously.
For Kara, exercise no longer came with the same pain that had led her to seek care in the first place. The burning sensation was no longer following her into that part of her routine.
Burning During Activity Can Offer Helpful Clues
When someone experiences burning legs, when and how the sensation occurs can be useful information to share with a provider.
Some people may notice discomfort after long periods of sitting or standing. Others may become more aware of symptoms during activity or later in the day. The location of the burning, how frequently it occurs, what makes it better or worse, and whether other symptoms appear at the same time can all help create a clearer picture.
Those details do not diagnose the cause on their own. They can, however, help guide an evaluation and determine whether circulation should be considered.
Kara’s experience is a reminder that symptoms do not have to be constant to deserve attention. If burning pain keeps returning or begins changing how comfortable normal activities feel, it may be worth finding out what is behind it.

Kara Was Surprised by How Comfortable Her Care Felt
Kara also had positive things to say about the people who cared for her.
She described the Boca Raton team as “very welcoming” and said they made her feel comfortable throughout the experience.
The procedures themselves were also different from what she had anticipated. Kara said they were “not as painful as I thought it would be,” and she shared that she was very impressed with both the staff and doctors.
That experience left her pleased not only with how her legs felt afterward, but with the care she received along the way.
Her Advice Comes from Both the Results and the Experience
Kara’s recommendation to someone still considering treatment reflected both sides of her story.
She had gone from dealing with burning leg pain to describing the pain as gone. She was exercising without the same discomfort, and the treatment experience itself had been more comfortable than she expected.
Her advice was straightforward:
“It is worth it. I am very pleased with my results & experience.”
Burning Legs Are No Longer Following Kara into Exercise
Kara originally came to UVVC because pain and a burning sensation in her legs had become difficult to ignore.
After treatment with VenaSeal™ and Varithena®, she reported that the pain was gone and that she felt significant relief. That difference was especially clear during exercise, where she was no longer experiencing the same pain.
Burning legs can have many possible causes, and the sensation by itself does not mean vein disease is responsible. But persistent or recurring burning that begins interfering with exercise, movement, or everyday comfort may be worth discussing with a provider.
If burning legs are becoming difficult to ignore, schedule a vein screening with United Vein & Vascular Centers. A screening can help determine whether vein disease may be contributing to your symptoms and whether additional evaluation may be appropriate.
