Bringing Vein Care Closer to Eastern Hillsborough County
Brandon serves as a crossroads for communities throughout eastern and southeastern Hillsborough County. Residents regularly travel through the area for work, healthcare, shopping, and everyday responsibilities, often using Brandon Boulevard, Interstate 75, or the Selmon Expressway to move between home and Tampa.
For someone experiencing leg swelling, heaviness, cramping, or discomfort after prolonged sitting or standing, traveling farther for recurring medical appointments can add another complication. The new clinic gives patients a Brandon-based option for screenings, recommended treatment, and follow-up care.
Its location on Eichenfeld Drive places specialized vein care within an area already familiar to many local patients. Residents traveling from Riverview or Bloomingdale can reach the clinic without continuing into central Tampa, while those coming from Valrico, Seffner, or Lithia have another option within the eastern Hillsborough community.
Dr. Andrew Georgeson and Dr. Romina Deldar Bring Specialized Vein Care to Brandon
The new Brandon clinic will open with Dr. Andrew Georgeson and Dr. Romina Deldar providing care.
Dr. Georgeson is one of UVVC’s Senior Regional Medical Directors and a board-certified surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. He has specialized in vein treatment for more than 25 years, with expertise in venous and lymphatic conditions, general and vascular surgery, and minimally invasive venous procedures.
Dr. Deldar is a board-certified surgeon and vein specialist with advanced training in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Her background allows her to consider both the physical discomfort associated with vein disease and the visible changes that may lead someone to seek care.
Patients may visit the Brandon clinic with concerns ranging from bulging varicose veins and skin discoloration to recurring swelling, heaviness, cramps, or aching that has begun affecting everyday routines. Dr. Georgeson and Dr. Deldar consider what the patient has noticed, how the concern has progressed, and how it affects work, sleep, mobility, and confidence.
When additional testing is appropriate, diagnostic ultrasound imaging can help identify veins that may not be circulating blood properly. The physicians use those findings alongside the patient’s symptoms, medical history, vein anatomy, and individual goals to determine whether monitoring, conservative care, or treatment may be appropriate.

Vein Conditions Evaluated at the Brandon Clinic
Varicose veins may be the most familiar vein condition, but they are only one reason a patient may seek specialized care. The Brandon clinic will evaluate and treat several conditions:
- Varicose veins: Enlarged, twisted, or bulging veins that may occur with aching, swelling, throbbing, heaviness, or fatigue
- Spider veins: Small red, blue, or purple veins near the skin’s surface that may create web-like patterns and cause itching or burning for some patients
- Reticular veins: Blue or green veins beneath the skin that are larger than spider veins but smaller than varicose veins
- Chronic venous insufficiency: A condition in which weakened or damaged vein valves make it difficult for blood to circulate efficiently out of the legs
- Venous reflux: Backward blood flow that occurs when valves inside the veins do not close or function properly
Some patients initially try elevation, changes in activity, or compression stockings to manage their symptoms. These approaches may be included in a conservative care plan, but recurring or worsening concerns may still deserve further evaluation.
Care Begins with Understanding the Pattern
A vein screening begins with a conversation about what the patient has noticed. The care team may ask when symptoms occur, whether they become more noticeable later in the day, and how they affect work, sleep, mobility, or other routines.
When further evaluation is appropriate, diagnostic ultrasound imaging can help show how blood is moving through the legs and identify veins that may not be circulating blood properly. Those findings are considered alongside the patient’s symptoms, medical history, physical examination, and vein anatomy.
The next step may involve monitoring, conservative care, a minimally invasive procedure, or no treatment. Recommendations are based on the complete evaluation rather than one symptom or visible vein.
Minimally Invasive Vein Treatments Available in Brandon
There is no single procedure used for every vein condition. The recommended treatment depends on the location, size, and function of the affected veins, along with the patient’s symptoms and ultrasound findings.
The Brandon clinic will offer several minimally invasive vein procedures:
- Radiofrequency ablation (RFA): Uses controlled heat to close a vein that is not circulating blood properly, allowing blood to naturally reroute through healthier veins nearby
- VenaSeal™: Uses a medical adhesive to close an affected vein without heat. Eligibility depends on the patient’s evaluation and vein anatomy
- Varithena®: An injectable foam treatment used to close certain affected veins, including some varicose veins
- Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy: Uses ultrasound imaging to guide an injectable medical solution into a targeted vein, causing it to close while blood reroutes through healthier veins
- Microphlebectomy: Removes larger, visible varicose veins through very small openings in the skin and may help address related discomfort and bulging veins
A patient may need one procedure, a combination of treatments, continued monitoring, or no procedure at all. The care team will explain any recommendations and help the patient understand the next steps before treatment begins.
Growing UVVC’s Tampa Bay Network
The Brandon opening expands UVVC’s reach into eastern Hillsborough County and strengthens its existing presence throughout Tampa Bay. The new clinic joins locations serving Carrollwood, South Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Lakeland, New Port Richey, Sun City Center, and surrounding communities.
For Brandon-area patients, that network provides more flexibility when choosing where to begin care and a local option for appointments that may include screening, treatment, and follow-up.
With the addition of Brandon, UVVC now operates nine clinics throughout the Tampa Bay area and 17 locations across Florida.
