ANASTASIOS POLIMENAKOS, M.D.

Dr. Anastasios Polimenakos is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon and vein specialist with extensive experience performing complex surgical procedures and advancing minimally invasive approaches to patient care. He is dedicated to helping patients improve their comfort, mobility, and quality of life through personalized treatment plans supported by technical precision, clear communication, and modern vein care.

Dr. Polimenakos earned his medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine, graduating among the top members of his class. He completed general surgery training at New York Medical College–St. Vincent’s Hospital and Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland, followed by a thoracic surgery fellowship at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in congenital heart surgery, cardiothoracic transplantation, and ventricular assist devices at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Polimenakos has held senior clinical, academic, and leadership positions at major healthcare institutions across the country. His appointments have included Chief and Director of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, Professor of Surgery, and attending cardiothoracic surgeon. His extensive surgical background has strengthened his expertise in cardiovascular anatomy, meticulous procedural planning, and the use of advanced technology to deliver individualized care.

Dr. Polimenakos believes patients should feel comfortable, informed, and actively involved in their treatment. He stays current with evolving techniques and minimally invasive procedures that can reduce recovery demands while helping patients achieve meaningful improvements in their daily lives.
