Sleeping Through the Night Without Pain
For this patient, discomfort had become part of daily life. He was experiencing numbness, swelling, and persistent pain in his legs. The symptoms were severe enough to keep him up at night, often waking due to painful charley horses. He even described his feet as looking “angry.” When sleep and comfort started slipping away, he knew it was time to seek help.
Ferdinand K. came to United Vein & Vascular Centers at the Memorial OBL, where he underwent right and left angiograms to evaluate and treat his circulation concerns.
The results were dramatic. Ferdinand now reports zero numbness and zero pain. His legs look better, and perhaps most importantly, he’s finally sleeping well again, his wife even says he now “sleeps like a baby.”
The improvements have been carried into his daily life. He’s walking more and doing so without pain, something that once felt difficult and exhausting.
Ferdinand also praised the care team, describing the staff as great and amazing. They made him feel comfortable throughout the process and kept his wife informed every step of the way, something that meant a great deal to both of them.
When asked what he would tell someone considering care, his answer was simple: he highly recommends coming in. His wife summed it up best, saying, “You saved my husband’s life.”
Why His Story Matters
- Numbness, swelling, and nighttime leg cramps can signal underlying circulation problems
- Angiographic procedures can identify and treat blocked or narrowed arteries
- Restoring blood flow can eliminate pain and dramatically improve sleep
- Clear communication and family involvement make a meaningful difference in the care experience
