SUEMOY WALLACE, M.D.
Dr. Suemoy Wallace is a board-certified general surgeon with extensive experience in acute care surgery, trauma surgery, and surgical critical care. Throughout her career, she has focused on delivering high-quality surgical care while maintaining a strong commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Dr. Wallace earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, where she was recognized for academic excellence and inducted into the Iota Epsilon Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her general surgery residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in surgical critical care at the University of Connecticut’s Hartford Hospital, followed by additional fellowship training in acute care surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Wallace has held numerous leadership roles in surgical care and trauma services. She has served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at both the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. She later held leadership positions within major health systems in Arizona, including Trauma ICU Director, Interim Trauma Medical Director, and Assistant Trauma Medical Director. More recently, she has served as Chief of Surgery and Medical Director for trauma services at HonorHealth Mountain Vista Medical Center while also leading its general surgery residency program.
Dr. Wallace is known for her leadership in surgical education and trauma care, as well as her dedication to improving patient outcomes in complex and high-acuity clinical environments. She believes in providing compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of surgical precision and teamwork.
