PATRICK REGAN, D.O.
Dr. Patrick Regan is a board-certified general surgeon and vein specialist with more than 30 years of experience spanning general, acute care, trauma, and pediatric surgery. Throughout his career, he has cared for patients in a wide range of clinical settings while holding leadership and teaching positions focused on surgical quality, safety, and education.
His interest in surgery began long before medical school. As a Boy Scout, Dr. Regan was drawn to first aid, and he later began volunteering in a local emergency room while attending preparatory school. One evening, he watched a vascular surgeon respond to a patient with a ruptured aortic aneurysm. After being invited into the operating room to observe, he knew he wanted to become a surgeon.
Dr. Regan earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Scranton. He completed a rotating internship at Allentown Osteopathic Hospital, followed by a six-year general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Regan has served as a general, acute care, trauma, and pediatric surgeon at hospitals throughout Florida and other parts of the country. His leadership experience includes serving as Chief of Surgery at Glades General Hospital, founding and directing a regional breast center, leading hospital quality and surgical audit committees, and serving as National Director of General Surgery for Synergy Health Partners. He has also contributed to surgical education through faculty appointments at Lincoln Memorial University and Florida State University, where he has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery since 2021.
Dr. Regan is certified by the American Board of Surgery and was selected to help develop questions for the board’s certification examinations. During his residency, he received the Stewart Fellow Award from Cleveland Clinic in recognition of compassionate and humanistic patient care.
For Dr. Regan, vein care is personal as well as professional. After experiencing a blood clot and lower-extremity venous disease himself, he gained firsthand insight into symptoms such as leg heaviness and swelling. That experience strengthened his understanding of how these concerns can affect daily life and the importance of following an individualized care plan.
Dr. Regan approaches each patient with compassion, dignity, and respect. He takes time to listen, explain available options clearly, and involve patients and their families in care decisions when appropriate. His goal is to create an environment where patients feel heard, supported, and comfortable asking questions throughout their care.
