MEGAN BOWEN, D.O.
Dr. Megan Bowen is a board-certified surgeon and vein specialist with more than two decades of experience delivering high-quality surgical care in both civilian and military settings. She is dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life through precise, minimally invasive procedures and a thoughtful, patient-centered approach that emphasizes safety, clarity, and compassion.
Dr. Bowen was drawn to surgery by the ability to make an immediate and visible difference in patients’ lives. Early in her clinical training, she recognized the power of relieving pain, restoring function, and improving mobility through procedural care, an impact that continues to drive her practice today. She believes that every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and fully informed when making decisions about their care.
Dr. Bowen earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University and completed her general surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center. She served for 21 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, and was deployed multiple times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. During her military career, she provided emergent and urgent surgical care to wounded service members, coalition forces, and civilians in austere environments.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bowen has been deeply involved in surgical education and leadership. She served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and resident educator for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and held quality improvement and patient safety leadership roles within military medical systems. Her background has shaped a practice style defined by discipline, technical precision, and reliability.
Dr. Bowen is known for her ability to translate complex medical information into clear, approachable explanations that reduce anxiety and build trust. She tailors each treatment plan to the individual patient’s symptoms, goals, and lifestyle, always prioritizing effective outcomes with the least possible downtime.
